C: Well I’m blacking out my sleeves Covering up my old tattoos Cuz they remind me of the man I used to be And I despise that man through and through J: And I’m cutting off these old jeans They ain’t even good for work anymore Each knee is split right down to the seams And they’re getting real soft, cuz they’re so damn worn C: I’m hanging out my sheets They’ve seen too many girls like you They (sheets) need to be flogged out like wheat Let wind carry that chaff to someone new J: And I’m pouring out my wine It’s made me believe in men like you When they say that they’re all mine Then they’re lyin’ cheatin’ heart comes showing through C/J: Now we’re casting our lots J: To see which direction we each will go C: We don’t want to chance our paths to cross J: I’ll take the sun C: I’ll take the snow

about

A collaboration between electrodoom outfit Trail of Ghosts and Willow Ash, this song is meant to harken back to midcentury country artists duetting over breakup ballads a lá Conway and Loretta. We think we nailed it pretty goddamned well. Jaylene and Christopher accompany each other's voices well, Jaylene adding an almost 60's pop vibe to the vocal pattern. This is country as only two metal musicians can write it.
