Ninety-Nine 02:50
Spent all night In an old black truck With an old black dog With one blue eye Living in nicotine Chasing that old black chasm again No one understands what I do Ninety-nine Now the devil himself Is waiting in the sand To exchange my soul For the blackest whiskey So I follow that light Through the cemetery To collect my pay No one understands what I do Ninety-nine
2.
I saw you on your porch And I took your hand Brought you back up to my land I dressed you up like the princess you are Did your face and clipped your nails Washed your hair in a feeder pail To get you ready for our moonlight dance When you’re naughty you’ll have to sleep in the barn It makes me sad but you need to learn I’m touching myself in an ungodly way Cuz you know that I can’t stay away I’ll steal out through the pigs and the muck To give you some special moonlight fuck Now Jesus told me That the devil is inside you And I need to slice him out in any way I can So I went and got my killing blade Hooked your spine to check your hanging weight Sliced your inner thighs so you bleed out right In the devil’s holy moonlight

This ghost of yours Followed me home This ghost of yours Take it back Cuz I’m drinking too much whiskey I’m drinking too much whiskey with this ghost of yours

Washed upon the shore Of desolation Woken by the thunderous sound Of my master’s voice And it’s all been laid to rest And the christians think They have it all Following that false god Straight to the fall And they’re doing this to themselves Destroying this place Exterminating this race They’re damning themselves They’re damning themselves And it’s laid to rest without meaning
6.
Victory Bog 01:55
You don’t go out on the bogs at night You don’t go out on the bogs at night You don’t want to know what goes on out there You don’t want to know what goes on out there You don’t go on the bogs at night You don’t want to go on the bogs at night

I, the son of Shala Born of Absinnu Have come to make manifest my destiny Of sowing forth my fruit I, the son of Thoth The thrice great Have come to keep the emerald tablet sacred And speak to the open ears, and shun the closed Of arcane wisdom and hidden truth A Moon Child born under the Holy Sun A wolf by any other name I have come to beguile his flock And lead the few toward the truth
8.
There’s a crack in the levy That sinful body Took a crooked step Crossed up and took all I had left Tried to reach, one knee, face down Shake, down my hands This sick feels good in this place It made me laugh bloody bubbles Into the living ground It’s split and soaking down Seeping, trickling, creeping Off the ceiling to a hellhound’s snout That levy’s gonna crack and then it will break Baby, maybe I should not have pulled that axe out Split the walls that you pray Cuz baby now that blood is on me I’ll take hold and collapse what needs to be You snake, you snake charmer You smell of brimstone and dried blood That levy’s gonna crack and then it will break

about

Swamp Krewe-only release of some raw, acoustic recordings that harken back to the Appalachian roots that we have, living here in the Atlantic Northeast. Recorded mostly by Chris alone, they display a different side of Willow Ash only peeked by small offerings as closers on various EPs. Recorded with Chris’s great grandfather’s banjolin and harmonica from the 1900’s, an acoustic guitar guitar from 1942 (compete with F holes), a thrift store bass, and a 1950’s Danelectro alongside a smattering of antique store and flea market percussion.
